Non-hybrid seeds, conserving heritage varieties
We produce seeds each year for the Real Seeds catalogue, for the Wales Seed Hub, and for our own year-to-year use. Here are some of the varieties we have saved recently:
Ffa • Beans
Climbing French Bean: “Kew Blue”
This variety is extremely rare, from the Heritage Seed Library. It grew fantastically well for us in the first season (2020) and we have lots of beans to share with you.
Buy from the Welsh Seed Hub.
Tomatoes
Vine Tomato: “Darby Striped”
Another from the Heritage Seed Library, these vines grew well for us producing shiny flavoursome mid-size tomatoes for months. Not for sale at the moment.
Vine Tomato: “Moskvitch”
“Hardy, northern-adapted medium-sized tomato with a good flavour!“
Buy from Real Seeds catalogue.
Bush Tomato: “Latah”
An incredibly early tomato, these were on our kitchen table weeks before any other variety. The plants are very straggly but the tomatoes are excellent.

Wheat: “Hen Gymro”
This is an old landrace of Welsh Wheat, with long red stalks. We grow about 100m2 each year and feed it to the poultry.
